|Veda Vyasa D. A. V. Public school organized a trip to Amritsar Wagah border, for the students of primary wing on 20 and 21 November 2012. Fifty children from class 3 to 5 went for this trip, escorted by teachers and supervisory head of the Primary Wing Mrs.Vandana Chawla . They boarded Shatabdi Express on Nov. 20 at 720 hrs. for Amritsar from New Delhi railway station. After reaching Amritsar at 1325 hrs, the group checked in hotel Alstonia, had their lunch and proceeded for Wagah border. At the border they got the glimpse of the traditional Marchpast and flag ceremony performed by the BSF jawans. The troops put up a spectacular display of the change of guard at the Indo-Pak border. Later, the day ended with DJ night followed by the lavish dinner.
Next day, after the breakfast children visited Golden Temple, the holy shrine of Sikhs, and the famous Jalianwalan Bagh to offer tribute to the martyrs. After the lunch at the hotel, the group visited Durgyana temple and went on a shopping spree for souvenirs. In the evening, they were transferred to the Amritsar Railway station to board Shatabdi Express at 1655 hrs and arrived at New Delhi railway station at 2305 hrs.
Throughout the trip, students were excited, thrilled and enjoyed it wholeheartedly. It was requested to make this kind of outing a regular affair for the time to come.
