Padampuri is a beautiful camp site situated on the banks of stream Kalsi, where it breaks out from the hills. It is located amongst acres of terraced farms, with backdrop of hills and forest.
The team departed from the School on 25 May, 2014 at 10.30 p.m for the overnight journey in A.C deluxe coach. On 26 May’14, the group arrived at camp Kalsi in the morning. The team was divided into groups & was allotted their tents. After breakfast introduction of the campsite, trekking equipments, knot practice, etc was given. Students were briefed about the flora found in mountainous region. Excitement was in the air when children participated in various confidence building exercises like Burma bridge crossing, commando bridge crossing, net crawl, wriggling, Tarzan crossing, etc. The main attraction was the trekking expedition to the nearby mountain peak; this filled the young minds with the feeling of pride, glory and oneness. In the evening everyone danced around the bonfire and after having a sumptuous dinner retired for the night in their tents.
27 May started with warm up exercises. After breakfast the group drove down to Nainital and checked into hotel Ambassador on the Mall road facing Naini Lake. After lunch the group visited Naina Devi temple, Naini Lake, church and bought beautiful souvenirs from the Mall road. They came back to the hotel late in the evening; everyone enjoyed the cool chill of the mountains and for some time forgot the sweltering heat of Delhi. They went to their beds after a lavish dinner.
Next morning we started our return journey after breakfast, had lunch enroute at hotel Meritone and reached school at 9.30 p.m on 28 May 2014.
The entire tour was very well planned; utmost care was taken to make our children comfortable. The escort provided by the tour operator was very helpful. Seven instructors were present with our children during adventure activities who were very alert & took good care that our children completed their tasks safely. The tents were very spacious and clean. Hotel Ambassador in Nainital was also very luxurious and comfortable.
