With the basic premise, Ved Vyasa DAV Public School, Vikas Puri organized an Environment Week – ‘Prakriti’, with enthusiasm. The motive of the three days long celebration was to sensitize children on the consequences of global warming and the need to maintain equilibrium in nature for the sake of posterity. Various House wise and intra class activities were organized based on Nature.
Nature Photography, Newspaper Making Activity, Poster Making, Kavita Path, Bulletin Board Decoration, Banner Making, Best out of Waste were some of the Inter House and Intra class competitions. The basis of all these competitions ware conservation of Nature.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. B.C. Sabata, Senior Scientific Officer, Department of environment. He exhorted the students to contribute their best to make the environment clean and green. The Chief Guest and students planted saplings in and around the school premises, for a better tomorrow. The students also visited the Herbal garden in School and planted some medicinal plants. The Principal addressed the students and encouraged them to nurture Nature for their future. The Green Brigade of the school organized a rally in and around the vicinity of the school and distributed pamphlets and saplings in the neighbouring residential societies.
