|Veda Vyasa D.A.V. Public School hosted a two day Inter D.A.V. SAARC festival in the school premises. Our esteemed Chief Guest, Sh. Sreedeep Omchary, Vice President D.A.V. College Managing Committee inaugurated the fest by lighting the ceremonial lamp and in his address, emphasized the need to nurture peace citizens. The Guest of Honour, Mr. Senarath Dissanayake, Senior Minister from Sri Lankan High Commission, our distinguished Chairman Dr. N.K. Uberoi, the Manager of the school, Mr. S.K. Jain and PTA members presided over the function.
The principal, Ms. Chitra Nakra gave a heartwarming welcome to the erudite visionaries and in her address sensitized the students towards creating a peaceful, harmonious and civilized world. From the enchanting classical dance to the mellifluous notes of the school choir, the students of the school added to the grandiose of the inaugural ceremony.
The two day festival witnessed a plethora of competitions: Brides of SAARC, Fancy Dress, Debate, Currency Designing, One Act Play, SAARC Anthem Exhibiting the creativity and aesthetics, zest and zeal of the participants filled will fun and frolic. The events were an amalgamation of traditional, cultural and conceptualized activities. Their performances reflected powerful messages of peace and harmony.
The Best Delegation Trophy was bagged by DAV Dayanand Vihar representing Sri Lanka.
The celebrations concluded with the address of Mr. Sasanka Perera, Professor, Dept. of Sociology and Dean, Faculty of Social Science, South Asian University. He exhorted the students to make tolerance their way of life.
The Supervisory Incharges Ms. Kirti Bajaj, Ms. Sonia Malik, Ms. Vandana Chawla and Ms. Kavita Dewan inspired the students by their presence. The Alumni of the school participated with zeal to make the event a success. The reverent guests congratulated Ms. Anju Singh, Head of Social Science Department and the teachers for organizing the magnanimous event.
